Me, after finishing my first canvas oil painting without a solvent/oil: ahh that’s why I used an entire tube of white paint (:

I also found that makeup wipes can get oil paint off of stuff really well and dish soap is great for cleaning off your brushes once your done

I found this helpful and to the point. I’ve never painted before and am aware I’m not making it easy on myself going straight to oils but hey ho ….

I have a question! I've glued jute rope to a plastic planter and want to paint it with different colors. My rudimentary research brought me to oil colors.
Now my question is, what solvent would you recommend that I add to the colors considering plastic as well as jute surface?

Thanks in advance for your help with this!! 🙂

So many better hobbies to set your house on fire with than painting TBH. Try wood burning if that's your goal.

This video is old enough that I have no idea if comments show up.
Anyway, this was fantastic. I'm pretty confident in getting started with oils.
What brushes comprise a good starting set that can get most of the basics painted?
