Telstra is awful with provisioning services. They really struggle to churn customers over, crappy broken manual system. Other RSP's can do it, but Telstra can't.

How come my computer internet was working before the most unfortunate obbligatory NBN started…… it is the biggest disaster, paying money for worst service ever, hardly there is connection, hardly can watch one programme in full or at least understand anything due to the continious interruptions………. NBN gets paid but gives nothing but poorest service ever.

I just noticed there is no ethernet cable connected the to NBN box. If there is no ethernet cable or the ISP box isn't turned on or turning on then the lights on the NBN box will flash exactly like this video.

When I moved house and Telstra disconnected my HFC service, This is exactly how the modem was acting on the evening of the move when they switched off the old service.
I was also helping the new person getting connected to it using superloop they were having trouble doing a remote activation on it thru the NBN system as it wasn't seeing a active modem at the location id.
There supposed to be able to activate it in this state with just the modem on and no ethernet wan connected but it wasn't working for them, We connected the WAN port up to it and the router and then all of a sudden it rebooted and the lights stayed on Superloop were then able to see it on the provisioning system and it activated. The rep on the phone said it was the first time he had come across this but I suspect recent firmware updates to the ARRIS boxes have changed the process. So I think its best to reset to the modem using the pin hole until you see the lights flicker and it begins rebooting with the router connected to it. That way the system should be able to process the activation which the provider should be able to do remotely.

Hey Jason, the more people who leave Telstra/Optus/exetel/TPG/ etc, companies that do tech support offshore the better, dealing with Local support is 100x better and should be encouraged, i'm sitting on 400/50 with Launtel and have no issues reaching 440Mbps mark on speed tests while on HFC

Better off changing to a different provider, Telstra is bad even for Business. They lie too much.

Modem is not provisioned in nbn to connect to Telstra network. Saw this last week with telstra belong, nbn attended, rang nbn, gave details of modem and isp and all come online.

For reference
– UPSTREAM or DOWNSTREAM lights are FLASHING but ONLINE light is OFF, there is a connection issue to the NBN network
– UPSTREAM and DOWNSTREAM lights are FLASHING and ONLINE light is ON, a firmware update is in progress.
– UPSTREAM and DOWNSTREAM lights are FLASHING and ONLINE light is OFF, there is no active service provisioned.
– UPSTREAM and DOWNSTREAM lights are ALTERNATING FLASHING and ONLINE light is ON, a factory reset is in progress.

That sequence of flashing lights shown in the video means there is no service provisioned. Telstra likely disconnected both when disconnecting the ADSL

its not syncing with the local exchange. check the box at the of the other end of that coax cable
