Clove bud and clove oil are same thing? Or not ? My pharmacy does not have clove bud.

Rut Brea 06/09/2021 - 07:28

Thank you so much, I do waste a lot of paint because I live alone and need to do all my house work as well as cooking. This is when I have to stop painting. By the time I finish my shores, I am so tired and can't paint. Meanwhile my paints are drying up. I appreciate your teachings so much.

Excellent tip! I use a brush dip that is safflower oil with a handful of drops of clove oil in it…I don’t ever have to wash my brushes with soap/water/etc and they are always fresh and ready to go! Wipe em clean on paper towel, dip em in the brush dip and they stay fresh and ready to use for 4-6 weeks.

"The use of clove oil as a drying retarder is greatly
discouraged as its addition tends to substantially weaken the dried paint film."

What was in the 1st 8 oz. bottle you showed — the one you said has a (bad) smell?

Pretty incredible. I knew one could add clove oil to the paint, but this is something else! I will try it out, big thumb up.

Kellie Pederson 06/09/2021 - 07:28

Thank you!!!!!! Can't wait to try this! I feel like I waste soooo much paint and I don't like it.

Christine Lewis 06/09/2021 - 07:28

What an awesome tip, Thank you for sharing!!!

stephen spiteri 06/09/2021 - 07:28

I’m not sure if the high temperatures that I live in would cause the oil paint to dry up quicker though. We’re constantly in an average of 28 degrees in summer and 20 Celsius in winter. Just the same I’ll give it a go. The wasted paint has always been an issue for me. Being a casual painter with a very busy schedule for everything else, I may work for an hour on a painting, then leave it for a few days before I have time to continue working on it. So waste a lot of paint. I tried putting the glass palette in Tupperware then in a freezer. Paint forms a skin which I don’t like.

Ashley Anja 06/09/2021 - 07:28

Nxx Rxx 06/09/2021 - 07:28

Equal amounts of any of the clove oils shown? Other kinds of oil or substance possibilities? And, is the pallet cover "air-tight" . Excellent instruction. Thanks.

Debra G 06/09/2021 - 07:28

Would this work on a wooden palette? I have a wooden palette in a masterson plastic paint box.

Marc Siste 06/09/2021 - 07:28

If you don't have any clove oil, it doesn't matter. Works just as well without it.

Shot Down In Flames 06/09/2021 - 07:28
